Woolery Sneak Peak

Last night, yep, just last night, I had the lucky opportunity to go on my very first maternity photo shoot! I couldn't wait to edit the pictures and so when my little kiddos went to sleep last night, I went to work! These are just a few of the shots that turned out well. We had so much fun and I wish the Woolery's the very, very best of luck with their very soon-to-be new arrival!!

Children's Home Society Shoot

Last week I had the chance to do an informal photo shoot for the kids at the Brentwood Children's Home Society. I wasn't prepared for the absolute generosity of the people I met there. And the kids, one very heart-meltingly cute little boy (I won't name names, you know who you are little man) in particular, have a spirit of heart that is impossible not to acknowlege.

So I would like to ask that you take a moment and check out the CHS's website and consider making a donation or even better think about donating some of your time to an extremely worthy cause.

Looking for Mommy-to-be's!!

Well, despite the many times that I've been pregnant, I've yet to get any portfolio worthy maternity shots... LoL, apparently something about being sick makes you not want to take pictures of yourself... So I think it's time to remedy the situation! I would like to offer a free Maternity Session (and a half-price CD should you want one) to the first 4 mommy-to-be's that book a session in the next two weeks. So give me a shout and get some great maternity shots for yourself!!

OMG! She's soooo high!

Yes. Way up there. Way, way, way up there... My little girl... my not sooo little girl I guess now. My district had their picnic recently and of course my family went. I was ready for all the kiddy rides, no problem there. Then my youngest sister (Emma's 12 year old aunt who is the epitamy of "cool" in Emma's eyes) asked if Emma could go a ride with her. Well, of course! What fun Emma will have... then we go to the very, very last ride and I find Emma in line with my sister for this (take note of the picture!) monstrousity! Ok, can I just say that my heart stopped. And then reason came through - not to worry, she's tooooo little to get on, right?? Surely she won't be allowed on, so there's really nothing to worry about.

Well, she makes it to the front and to my horror she's actually tall enough!! How did that happen! I wanted to make sure that someone didn't cut a few inches off the bottom of that measuring stick! Note: if you look carefully you can see spots in the photograph... why is that, you say? Because we're lucky I could hold the camera let alone get a good shot - I was actually using the camera to zoom in and make sure she was OK!! The fact that I had to zoom in just to see her was shocking, let alone her look when she got to the top!

In the end, she made it back to the ground safely and completely overjoyed that she's a big girl! I, on the other hand, may need some sort of therapy to get over the shock.

Website updates continue - adding charities!

Well, the response I've received so far has been great! So, I'm moving ahead with the changes! Checkout my new website (the link's at the top of the blog) to see if you agree with the new (hopefully chic!) look!

I've also added a Giving Back section to my site. I've donated to Baskets of Hope in the past, and have recently been contacted by the Children's Home society as well! Both are very admirable organizations and I'm proud to be able to help out!

Website updates

In case the general public has missed it, I'm currently updating my website and blog! I knew that I've been needing to do the updates and I put it off thinking it would be a chore, but as it turns out this is kind of fun! Picking the colors, the artsy designs. It's kind of like redecorating the house without spending the small fortune (although, I would love a new couch too... oh and while we're there a coffee table... well then we'd need an area rug... I wonder if my husband will read this?...). ;)

I've received some interest in doing weddings as well recently. I'm toying with the idea of adding a wedding gallery of the ones that I've already done. I love weddings. They are the beginning of a new family - full of emotion and excitment, anticipation and joy... It would be a big commitment and I'm not 100% sure I want to stray from my family photography as a standard, but I have to admit that it is very tempting.

What do you think? Comment or send me an email and let me know what you think about the updates and the possible addition of weddings. Good, bad, ... ugly??? Let me know! :)
